Amelia Blanks Campbell, age 96 of the Farmers Union community died Friday, July 27, 2012 at Premier Living in Lake Waccamaw. Final rites will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at Rehobeth AME Zion Church in Farmers Union with Reverend Dr. A.B. Coley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Mitchell Field Cemetery, Clarkton.
She was the widow of Henry Lewis Campell and the daughter of the late Edward and Avery Spaulding Blanks. She was also preceded in death by eight siblings, Eunice B. White, Lena Mae Blanks Spaulding, Fannie Blanks Logan, Wesley Blanks, Howard Blanks, Lewis Blanks, Edward Blanks, and Joe Blanks.
She is survived by a son, Henry E. “June” Campbell of Lake Waccamaw; four daughters, Cora C. Howell of Bladenboro, Lucille C. Radcliffe of Baltimore, MD, Mary “May” C. Vereen of Chadbourn, and Deborah C. Hazel of the home; a sister, Emmaline B. Hopkins of Batimore, MD.; a brother, Byde Blanks of Lumberton; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 2-3 p.m. (one hour prior) Tuesday at Rehobeth AME Zion Church, 475 Rehobeth Church Road, Clarkton, NC.
