WHEREAS, Henry Lawrence proudly served in the United States Army where he became a paratrooper with the 82nd airborne at Fort Bragg, NC, and he completed the difficult Special Forces training. In doing so, he was amongst the first African Americans to do so in those years, soon after President Truman’s integration of the armed services.

WHEREAS, it has saddened the hearts of the Descendants of Benjamin and Edith Spaulding, friends, and loved ones on this earth; we surrender him to our Almighty Heavenly Father because He has assured us that in His arms will be a peaceful rest.
