Mrs. Cora Newell Freeman, formerly of Lawnside NJ died onSunday, February 27, 2011 at The Simpson House, Philadelphia PA. Cora was the daughter of the late George and Pearlie Boyd Newell, and was married to the late Sgt. Theodore R. Freeman. Cora had one daughter, Mrs. Lydia Freeman-Goodman, and son-in-law, Mr. David Goodman, of Philadelphia. She was known affectionately as "Nana" by her four grandchildren, Leon Goodman, Christopher Goodman, and Tabitha Goodman of Philadelphia and Samantha Goodman-Gardiner of Lawnside, NJ and as "Big Nana" by her two great-grandchildren, Robert E. Williams II and Samaya Williams. She was also the sister of Mrs. Etta Newell Goins, of Clarkton, NC. Funeral Services will held at New Bethel A.M.E. Church, Philadelphia, PA on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 10:00 AM, and the interment will be in the White Marsh Memorial Gardens.
